Announcing Our New Caregiver Support Group

A multigenerational group of people sit near each other as they participate in group therapy

Family caregivers are the backbone of day-to-day care for many loved ones, yet their role often comes with significant personal challenges. Understanding and supporting these caregivers is crucial. They not only provide essential care but also need to maintain their own well-being.

To address this, we’re excited to introduce our new Caregiver Support Group. This group aims to offer practical support, resources, and a community for caregivers to share experiences and strategies. Join us as we delve into the details of this new initiative.

A place to feel heard

One of our Life Care Managers, Gina Haddad, LICSW, C-ASWCM, will facilitate the group. “We at LifeCare Advocates recognize the importance of not only caring for the client but also the caregiver,” said Gina. “There are many emotional and physical strains on the caregiver. The need to feel heard and find ways of coping while caring for a loved one is a crucial part of the caregiver role, which we will provide in our support group.”

Meeting info

The Caregiver Support Group will start with virtual meetings. Depending on response and interest, we may add in-person sessions. The group will meet the first Wednesday of the month from 12 to 1 p.m. We will have guest speakers and offer caregiver education along with the group supporting one another in their important roles they have taken on as caregivers.
